We are proud to present Japanesque Lab., a gallery and curatorial initiative dedicated exclusively to the work of the late Keiun Tsujii (1944–2019), one of Japan’s most revered calligraphers. Founded and directed by his son, Tatsuki Tsujii, Japanesque Lab. serves as both a tribute and a digital museum, preserving and sharing the profound artistic legacy of an exceptional talent.
Keiun Tsujii was known not only for his masterful technique and deep understanding of classical forms, but also for the spiritual resonance and emotional depth of his work. A professor emeritus, researcher of the Japanese language, and lifelong devotee of shodō, his calligraphy was celebrated for its originality and refined aesthetic. International recognition followed, most notably at the Musée Guimet in Paris, where his pieces were selected as key visuals for major exhibitions.
At Japanesque Lab., visitors are invited to engage with his oeuvre through a curated selection of folding screens, scrolls, and original works that merge Zen philosophy with artistic expression. This gallery is not a commercial venture, but a cultural endeavor—offering collectors, scholars, and art institutions around the world a rare opportunity to encounter the depth and quiet power of traditional Japanese calligraphy at its highest level.
We invite you to explore the legacy of Keiun Tsujii through the lens of Japanesque Lab., where each brushstroke reflects a lifetime of discipline, humility, and artistic vision.
